A list of the changes and new features (including short videos) is here:

http://www.starshipcorporation.com/game/alpha/

Please let me know if all problems are actually fixed - or if there are even new ones from fixing the old ones ;)
Hope you have fun!

Also, please help me find all the grammatical errors in the tutorial, or suggest a better phrasing - I will post the complete text below...

Step1
Welcome to the Ship Design Tutorial.
Please use the Next button to start.

Step2
In the top left area you will find the Mission Progress Panel.
There you can monitor how good your ship will be rated. You can minimize it with the arrows on its right side.

Step3
At the top right corner, you can see the Objectives Panel. You can see the Construction Goals and use the information to design the ship.
You can minimize it with the arrow on the bottom.

Step4
At the top you will find the Message Bar. Click the arrow to minimize or maximize. You can use this list to keep track of what you still need to build for a fully functioning ship.

Step5
At the bottom left you can switch the ships decks by clicking on the ship graphic. You can also change decks by using <Page Up> and <Page Down> or the number keys.

Step6
At the bottom right you will see the Build Menu. Please select the Bridge from the Core Modules Panel. You can rotate the selected room by clicking the right mouse button, and place it anywhere by clicking the left mouse button.

Step7
Return to the Build Menu by pressing the <SPACE> button or clicking on the highlighted build menu icon.

Step8
Click and hold the left mouse button over the built room until it attaches to your mouse cursor, then left click again to build it at a different spot.

Step9
Delete the bridge by clicking on it with the right mouse button or hitting the <DELETE> key when the room is selected.

Step10
You can undo any room deletion or creation by pressing the keyboard shortcut <Control> + <Z>.

Step11
Please place the Bridge at the marked location on deck B1 to be able to continue the tutorial. You are only able to build one bridge - move or delete the one previously built.

Step12
When the Bridge is selected, you will see the Grid Menu in the bottom right corner. Here you can choose the number of the Power Grid this room will be connected to later. Please leave the default setting of Grid 1.

Step13
You will notice that the crew count in the objectives panel has been updated. This tells you that you need 6 Pilots now to operate the Bridge.

Step14
Please build a Computer Core now. It is preferable to build it close to the Bridge, because you will need a pilot to maintain it.
For this mission, place it at the marked location on Deck B2.

Step15
The crew count has slightly changed. The 1 Pilot in brackets is optional, that means you do not need an extra Pilot, if you want to use one of the bridge crew to also maintain the Computer Core.

Step16
Please select the Engine Room from the core modules tab. You can only build an Engine Room next to yellow areas. Please build it at the highlighted location on Deck B1.

Step17
Please change the Build Menu Panel to <Corridors/Doors>. Select a Hatch und connect the Engine Room to the Bridge. As you can see, the red border will disappear to signify they are connected now.

Step18
Please switch to page 2 of the Core Modules Tab by clicking on the <Down Arrow> on the right or scrolling down your mouse wheel. Select the Landing Gear and place one pair in the highlighted areas at the front and the other pair at the back of Deck B1.

Step19
The decks of the ship need to be connected. Select the Lift from the <Corridor/Doors> tab and place it at the highlighted area on deck B1. You can choose, if you want to build DOWN (from Deck B2) or UP by clicking on the arrows of the Lift and Stairway Build Icons.

Step20
When using a ship with 3 Decks or more, you can extend Lifts or Stairways by building a new Lift or Stairway over an already placed one.

Step21
Please switch to <CREW QUARTERS>, select <PILOT QUARTERS L>, and place it at the recommended location. You will notice that the crew count as well as the air and water supply have been updated. Wait until you know the complete crew count before building air and water tanks.

Step22
The Engine Room needs to be supplied by fuel tanks. Please select the fuel tank from the <STORAGE> Panel and build a tank at the recommended location. In the objectives panel you will see the updated fuel supply of this ship. In the current game version it is not necessary to connect fuel tanks, in the future it will be.

Step23
Place a <MEDIUM TECHNICIAN CREW QUARTERS> at the recommended location.

Step24
Now place an air tank on the marked location. It provides the current crew with oxygen for a duration of 2 months. In the current game version it is not necessary to connect air tanks, in the future it will be.
Step25
You also need to place a water tank on the marked location. It provides the current crew with water for a duration of 3 months. In the current game version it is not necessary to connect the water tank, in the future it will be.

Step26
Take a moment to maximize the Message Panel to see what you still need to do. As you can see, the ship needs Life support and Water treatment. Orange Messages are optional tasks.

Step27
Construct the Life support at the indicated location.

Step28
Construct the Water Treatment at the indicated location.

Step29
Life Support and Water Treatment need medical personnel to operate properly. The Objectives Panel has been updated to show the new crew requirements. Please build <SMALL MEDICAL CREW QUARTERS> at the indicated location.

Step30
All rooms are still without power supply. Please select a <LARGE GENERATOR> from the <TECH FACILITES> Panel and build it at the marked location on Deck B2.

Step31
The Lightning Icon signifies a room without power supply. You can see the rooms power need in the room information panel.

Step32
You can see how much power a single Generator has left in the Room Information Panel, and how much power the entire Grid (with all connected Generators) holds in the Power Grid information Box below.

Step33
Please select the Power Generator or click on the highlighted power icon. Red Squares or the Lightning Icon signify a room without power supply, green squares are rooms already supplied. If you hover with the mouse in Power Grid Mode over a room´s power plug, you can see its power need.

Step34
Click and hold the left mouse button to draw, or hold the <Control> key and click with the left mouse button to set start and endpoint of a powerline. Holding or clicking the right mouse button deletes powerlines. Powerlines must touch or cross generators to be connected.

Step35
You can see that the last Grid you created or selected is highlighted with a green square. The available power at this point in the grid is display in the Grid Menu at the bottom right.

Step36
To be able to supply the lower deck with power, you have to build a <POWER CONNECTION>. Please select it from the Core Modules Menu and place it at the marked location on Deck B1.

Step37
After extending the Power Grid on Deck B2 to the Connection, select the Power Connection on Deck B1 or click on the highlighted power icon to be able to draw the Power Grid on Deck B1. (There will not be enough power for every room.)

Step38
There is not enough power for all the rooms on both decks. Place one <MEDIUM GENERATOR> at the marked location and connect it to the Power Grid.

Step39
Some rooms, like the Engine Room and the Generator Rooms need cooling - this is highlighted with red temperature icons. Please build 2 <Small Cooling Generator> at the highlighted areas to accommodate this. This room type can only be built adjacent to the hull.

Step40
The Cooling Generators are shown in a green color. This means, that these rooms still need to be sealed by an outer hatch. Select it from the <Corridors/Doors> Tab, build it next to the Cooling Generator and connect it to the Power Grid.

Step41
You can see the rooms cooling need either in the room information panel, or when you hover with the mouse in Cooling Grid Mode over a rooms plug.
Please select the Cooling Unit or click on the highlighted temperature icon.

Step42
You can see how much cooling a single generator has left in the Room Information Panel, and how much cooling the entire grid (with all connected cooling generators) holds in the Cooling Grid information Box below (temperature icon).

Step43
Connect the Cooling Units and Hatches to the Power Grid, then select the Cooling Unit or click on the highlighted cooling icon to activate the Draw Tool.

Step44
Use the left mouse button (or Control + Mouse button) to connect both Cooling Units to the rooms on this deck that need cooling. Red Squares signify a room without cooling, blue squares are rooms already supplied.

Step45
To be able to supply the upper deck with cooling as well, you have to build a <COOLING CONNECTION>. Please select it from the Core Modules Menu and place it at the marked location. Then extend the Cooling Grid on Deck B1 to connect the Cooling Connection.

Step46
Select the Cooling Connection on Deck B2 or click on the highlighted cooling icon to activate the Cooling Grid. Use the left mouse button to connect the Cooling Generator to the rooms with cooling need. (There will not be enough cooling for every room.)

Step47
You will need to place another <SMALL COOLING GENERATOR> on Deck B2 and connect it to the Power- and Cooling Grid.

Step48
Close the Cooling Unit with an outer Hatch and connect it to the Power Grid.

Step49
You need to connect all the rooms on the ship. First, build 2 hatches on the highlighted locations.

Step50
Now place a <CORRIDOR 1> Segment between the hatches.

Step51
Please place enough hatches to connect every room on the ship.

Step52
Take a quick look at the Messages. You see that the ship needs an Exit Hatch - the crew has to be able to enter or leave the ship somewhere. It can be placed anywhere along the hull, preferably at the marked location.

Step53
If you haven´t already, please extend the Power Grid to supply all the new hatches.

Step54
In case the crew has to abandon ship, there need to be enough EEVs for the entire crew. Place 2 Emergency Escape Vehicles at the marked locations and connect them with hatches. The EEVs dont need to be connected to the ships Power Grid, the hatches do.

Step55
As you can see in the Message Panel, you still need another EEV to accommodate the medic. This is optional because you can reduce crew count for the missions later or accept lower morale. Place another EEV at the marked location.

Step56
The ship is now fully functional. Please export it as a ship class, so that you can test your construction in CREW MANAGEMENT.
Thank you for using the BASIC DESIGN TUTORIAL.

Oh damn, this shuttle is one tough b*tch... I tried for 3 hours now to get even close to succeeding. The Tutorial ship lacks space and the small cargo ship is too expensive...

Great having some new problems to solve

Actually, it doesn't matter what you do or don't, you can continue anyway.
