Just curious why this was picked as a base for the story.

I mean I can definitely see it sorta fitting in with the cold-hearted corporatism of Weyland-Yutani in Aliens for example, but whenever someone mentions Atlas Shrugged I can't help but get curious if the person is a follower of Ayn Rand's objectivism or not!

So assuming Ratakari doesn't feel the question too personal I am very interested in hearing why he went with Atlas Shrugged as the basis for the story for the SP campaign!

I am not an objectivist, and the story will not be about "space-objectivists" ;)
Sorry that I cant get into more detail why and how I was inspired by it - you will have to wait for the campaign to come out...

Looking forward to the campaign then to see how it plays out!

Thanks for the reply!

So, are you going to be attacking objectivism, or perhaps showing both sides of the coin?

Why do people assume Daivd is an Objectivist when the game is based on Atlas Shrugged? I mean, if the game was based on the second world war, I doubt anyone would ask if he were a Nazi. :D

Never really been a big fan of Ayn Rand. Had to study some of her ideas in High School. Kinda gets up my nose a bit, but to each their own. certainly wouldn't kill the game for me. i'd be perfectly happy with a sandbox approach. i mean who really wants to design Crap ships so you can extract the max profit in a game where the whole idea is to build something beautiful and elegant?
