I don't know if it's just me, but fiddling around with the Alpha demo, I feel like I'm very limited in the freedom I have to create a ship.
Sure I can (with some difficulty) make a ship with the bare minimum requirements that I'm being asked of, but sometimes that's even difficult to do.

Its not just you.
In the current version I created very restrictive design missions to test out the games difficulty and level design. There will be much larger ships and much more easy or flexible goals, not to mention setting your own goals and be completely free to build whatever you like.

The thing is though in space(NO ONE CAN HERE YOU SCREAM) there usally are a lot of Design limits. I found it quite rewading to finaly finish fitting everything i needed in a small ship. lol. It took me ages moving things around changing the layout over and over again. It actually became a game within itself.

I know the feeling, you should check out my MSF hades class missile ship, had the same feeling when I got her done, easily spent hours on only one deck moving, and removing, and shifting, and re-shifting, everything until I found the ONE combination that seemed to work, once I did I was elated.

Plus it's just like ratakari said, I had my own goals when making the ship, specifically the missile configuration, either they were gonna be placed in that pattern or I was never gonna build that ship, and again, I was elated to reach the goal I set XD
