*Ive had enough of stalking you guys as a guest, so I finally created myself an account on this forum.*
Terencia InterGalactical The board of directors has decided to open new contract opportunities to renew its working fleet for the coming century.
Rules of appliance for a Ship Plan: 1. One ship plan per product type only. (We expect that your engineers will pre-select the best design) 2. Basic demands should be met according to product specifications. 3. Contract bidding per product type consist of 2 rounds. (simulation & prototype) 4. The 2 firms with the most promising product type design will be allowed into the next round. And will be funded for their prototype accordingly. [*** To clarify more clearly, there are 11 independent contracts (each with their own rounds) to win. ]
Ship Plan Contracts Extra info: *Survive certification = pass test, critical damage allowed *Pass certification = good score, all systems should be able to revert to stable *All ships need to pass basic operations *Minimal < Standard < Optimal *Depending on economic/field results, planned contract production numbers might increase
[TR] Personnel Transporter (60 units planned for production) Military Small Ship, orbital/short-space travel, slow speed or better, no luxury needed, no weapons needed, preserve money on armor (mobility is the key), pass asteroids certification, stable hull with minor small ship collision, able to operate with minimal standard crew total, able to transport up to 12 marines as passengers.
[TR] Transporter Goods (200 units planned for production) Civilian Medium ship, medium-space-only travel, slow speed or better, no luxury needed, no weapons allowed (as according to law), reserve space for an optional 'asteroid defensive module' with corresponding power, pass asteroid certification without the optional 'asteroid defensive module', preserve money and weight on armor/electrics/cooling, survive ramming of other medium ship, able to operate with normal crew total, a good balance between total cargo and travel distance (this design needs a plan with and without the optional module, our engineers expect to encounter small ship sized "asteroids")
[TR] Transporter Fuel (150 units planned for production) Same rules apply as the "Transporter Goods" except: - no space needs to be reserved for the optional module as this ship type will be in convoys with other merchant ships - replace cargo space by fuel storage - do not preserve on cooling - bonus if you can house some optional marines versus boarding pirates - extreme bonus for passing fire drills
[SC] Scout Ship (20 units planned for production) Military Small Ship, short-to-medium-space travel, slow-medium speed or better, no luxury needed, no weapons needed, no armor allowed at all -> the scouting ship should have a low radar profile, power shield is allowed but standard in off-status, able to operate with standard crew total, optimize for scanning and radar, no special certifications needed
Space Early Warning Ship (12 units planned for production) Military Medium Ship, medium space travel, slow-medium speed or better, no weapons needed, preserve on armor costs, able to operate with optimal crew total, optimize for radar, no special certifications needed
[HS] Hospital Ship (3 units planned for production) Military Medium Ship, medium space travel, slow speed or better, no weapons nor any active marines allowed, preserve on armor costs, able to operate with full crew total, optimize for huge hospital and patient housing activity, pass power failure certification
[LS] Landing Ship (20 units planned for production) Military Medium Ship, short orbital/space travel, medium speed or better, ~80-100 passenger marines, optimize for drop-off exit, able to operate with standard crew total, weapons/shields/armor optional, bonus for small cargo, no luxury needed, no special certifications needed
[PF] Patrol (100 units planned for production) Military Small-Medium Ship, short space travel, medium speed or better, small weapons mandatory, no luxury needed, able to operate with standard crew total, survive collision and asteroids, bonus for each extra certification
[FF] Frigate / Corvette (25 units planned for production) Military Medium Ship, medium-long space travel, medium speed or better, medium weapons mandatory, able to operate with standard crew total, pass collision and asteroids, bonus for each extra certification
[CA] Cruiser (12 units planned for production) Cruiser should be a downgraded battleship, with lesser armor/shields/arms, able to outrun standard Battleships, cheaper to build, requires free room for later addable classified modules (= should be easily adaptable to a specific support role) In short the Cruiser should be a mass producable if needed ship, while the Battleship is an optimized expensive quality flagship.
[BB] Battleship (6 units planned for production) Military Large Ship, long space travel, medium-high speed, heavy weapons mandatory, able to operate on full capacity, the pride of the fleet
