The last pixel between the outside of the ship and the green outer layer causes double armour to momentarily be placeable. By clicking the left mouse button quickly, double armour can be placed where it shouldn't be possible. This isn't possible at all with the new single armour. Single armour costs exactly half the price of double armour. Therefore, for what does double armour exist?



By clicking on the cargo hatch, you can even secretly hide the armour under the hatch.
