as the computer system of the ship is "client server" with the computer core of the ship being the "mainframe" (or server) and every other room being "client" that need to have access to that computer core to process data, then we can imagine that the processing capacity of a computer core could limit the number of rooms and corridors you can have in a ship. (depending on the size and electronics, each room may need a portion of the computer core's total processing capacity)

A large ship would need a larger computer core (with more processing capacity) or would be limited in the number of system that could be active at the same time.

as the computer core is the room where all computer data go, it is easy to monitor all systems from there, ranging from just watching the camera feed (detecting intruder) to checking the room status (detecting malfunction). however, communication failure (due to electronic malfunction) between a section of the ship and the computer core may result in other malfunctions not being spotted by the computer. (intruders may intentionnaly cut off the communication with section they have invaded so the owner of the ship may not see where they are.)

so with the 4 elements already appearing in the game (power, cooling water and fuel supply) we could think about an "electronics & communication" system.

i admit it would be hard to get it and would probably be among the lowest priority element.

here is a list of modules that would be affected by such an idea.

existing modules:

- computer core : could have 3 size, like all other room, each size requiring more cooling than the other but procuring more processing capacity.

- missile control room: would be linked to 2 separate communication system. (one secured system linking it to it's missile launcher and another one linking it to the computer core.) the missile control room may work with a missile launcher room using a "client-server" system (the missile control room being the missile room's server) but the missile control room is also a client of the computer core.

not yet existing modules:

- security/maintenance rooms: would be linked to 2 separate communication system.(one link to the computer core, one link to the section they are watching)
could help divide the ship in section. the security room and the maintenance room would allow player to allocate security agent and technicians to a given area (by allocating them to the room watching the area), dispatching them whenever a malfunction, fire or intrusion is detected. (could be expensive so it can only beneficial in very large ship, where section may be the size of one deck of the yanmori, or bigger.)

- computer (inter-deck) connection : working like the cooling and power connection. however, that room may be smaller (like 2X1, one square for the technician and one square for all the cables) than the other 2 connections (where it is 2x2, 1 square for the technician and 3 squares for the tubes).
